My disappointment could not be measured with any scale right now. We had a massive party planned for Wednesday. Pokemon's 30th. We don't even open on Wednesdays. This week we were opening at 6am so people could get their product before work or school. Catering all day. A DJ. A real party, all day long. But guess what. We'll have no product. All LGS product ships so it doesn't arrive before Wednesday. It lands Wednesday afternoon if we're lucky. Thursday or Friday if we're not. Meanwhile the rest of the world celebrates with product they bought at Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. Every local game store is left out of the fun. I get Pokemon's frustration. Streamers got product early and sold it online before street date. That's a real problem. But this was not the solution. And it points to a much bigger issue. Pokemon and the distributors should sell to good people who follow the rules and don't scalp. The few bad apples could easily be dealt with another way. Instead, everyone gets punished to deal with a handful of bad actors. Collectively punishing everyone to deal with a few bad apples isn't enforcement. It's silly. Local game stores are where the next 30 years of Pokemon fans get made. Treat us like partners, not suspects. The Pokémon Company International
