I've watched this happen dozens of times at Izzi's Gym. An adult walks in with their kid. Barely paying attention. Checking their phone. Then they see the Kayou wall. My Little Pony. Naruto. Something they grew up with. Their face changes. They pick up a pack — then immediately apologize for it. "My daughter used to watch this." "I haven't thought about this in years." They shouldn't have to apologize. Trading cards do something no other collectible can. They give adults permission to love the things they never stopped loving. I wrote about why — and it gets into something I don't think the hobby talks about enough. Full piece in the first comment 👇
