10,000+ people showed up to our convention. Admission was $0. IZZISCON cost real money to run and I charged nothing to get in. Not for entry, not for any of kids activities. People in the industry told me I left a pile of money at the door. Probably true. But I'm not interested in a store that only some of Sioux Falls can afford to be part of. The spreadsheet doesn't hate it either. Thousands of customers walked through the store last month. Ask them where they first heard of us and a ton say an event. I spent 12 years buying ads in print on demand. Free events beat every acquisition number I ever hit. Walt Disney said, "Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends." That's the whole playbook. The free event gets them in once. The store has to be good enough to earn the second visit. Shop owners, do free events pay off for you too, or am I just lucky with this community?
