My dad taught me too well.
And it just cost me another $25k.
Every release day I climb on this same soapbox, and I'll keep climbing on it: stores should not be allowed to sell Pokémon over MSRP on release day.
Pokémon is a precious commodity. Why give it to the people who are greedy and want to price kids out of the hobby?
The math is wild when you actually look at it. At MSRP you're already making 37% margin for doing nothing. Product sits on the counter. Sells instantly. No ad spend. No fees.
And somehow that's not enough for some shops. They need 60% or more.
I know what's coming: "Christopher, you're leaving money on the table."
Maybe. But Izzi's Gym isn't going to be part of the problem. We're going to be part of the solution.
This is the right way to run a business. My dad knew it. I know it. And I'll keep saying it until Pokémon hears it.
